Description:

The Strata Team has constructed a 50m x max 6m tall retaining wall constructed of reinforced blocks.  

The wall required excavation to competent rock, for the footings to then be anchored to. A large concrete footing was then constructed for the blockwork to sit on. Due to the retained height of the wall, several buttresses were constructed on the internal side of the wall to add support.  

A bunker for housing mechanical equipment was constructed mid way through the wall, consisting of an insitu concrete suspended slab and lintel. 

The wall was mostly constructed  throughout the winter months, allowing a building team to follow behind our crew to begin works on the house.
