Lakeview L-Shaped In-Situ
Concrete Retaining Walls
Client: WTPA
Date: September 2022 - August 2023
Value: $1.1m
Description:
Strata constructed 232m of in-situ poured concrete retaining walls for the alliance through 2022-2023. Strata managed all aspects of construction.
The works consisted of;
x303m3 40MPA concrete
x41,593kg Reinforcement Steel
820m2 Formwork max 2.4m high
1900m3 earthworks cut
1281m3 earthworks certified backfill
Subgrade prep, drainage wall etc
The walls were to be constructed with the seen face being on top of a new Kerb and Channel, using minimal dwyidags possible in order to achieve an F4 finish. Our construction crew manufactured a steel ballast to weigh the front shutter to the top of kerb, and used more slim soldiers to brace the wall as opposed to dwyidags.
Strata constructed timber temporary work platforms in order to provide access during the concrete pours. The walls are constructed in 6m long bays, with expansion joints at 18m intervals.
